Job summary

Rocket Lab USA is seeking a Senior Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer I based at our Long Beach, CA headquarters. You will develop high performance and lightweight satellite deployment systems, mechanisms, and satellite bus configurations to support customer missions and internal leadership briefings.

You will own component designs from concept through production, perform hand-calcs and FEA, and lead design reviews while collaborating with Space Systems, business development, and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering, or other engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with CAD modeling and drawing.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the Business Development team with proposals and mission concepts.
• Develop high performance and lightweight satellite systems, mechanisms, and satellite bus configurations for our customers.
• Lead component design reviews from concept through production and test.
• Create CAD models, production drawings, and test/operations procedures.
• Manage development schedules, vendors, budgets, and other deliverables.

Skills

Bachelor's degree in aerospace or机械工程

5+ years of mechanical engineering

CAD modeling and drawing

U.S citizenship is required
