Job summary

True Anomaly is seeking a seasoned GNC Engineer to own end-to-end development of guidance, navigation and control systems for spacecraft. You will design, implement, verify flight software and embedded algorithms across multiple orbit regimes and ensure robust performance in high-fidelity simulations.

Collaborating with avionics, propulsion, software and mission operations, you will apply physics, control theory, and Kalman filtering to real-time challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or related field
• 5-7 years of GNC engineering experience in aerospace/defense
• Coursework or project experience in spacecraft attitude dynamics and control
• Strong understanding of physics, attitude dynamics, orbital mechanics and software development
• Internship or project experience in GNC, control systems or simulation development
• Experience with C++ and/or Python for algorithm development
• Familiarity with spacecraft GNC concepts such as sensors, actuators, state estimation and control laws
• Exposure to Kalman filters through internships, coursework or projects
• Ability to build, test and debug software and simulation tools
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment

Responsibilities

• Own all aspects of GNC system development from architecture to verification
• Design, test, and validate GNC flight software and embedded algorithms for various orbit regimes
• Develop and maintain AOD/AOE algorithms including sensor fusion and filtering
• Conduct trade studies and provide design recommendations for GNC hardware
• Develop GNC algorithms and implement in flight software with high-fidelity verification
• Create high-fidelity 6-DOF simulation environments for SIL/HIL
• Utilize time- and frequency-domain control analysis tools for stability and performance
• Define GNC requirements, interfaces, and verification plans with systems engineering
• Collaborate with avionics, propulsion, software, mission ops and systems teams
• Support on-orbit commissioning, calibration, maneuver planning and anomaly resolution
