Job summary

Shield Capital seeks a flight software engineer to develop C/C++ software for critical spacecraft functions, including radio communications, telemetry, and autonomous fault protection.

You will support hardware bring-up and system integration, optimizing for Low-SWaP embedded environments in Herndon, Virginia. A BS in CS or EE with 3+ years spacecraft flight software experience is required; proficiency in C, Python, and version control.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/EE or related field with 3+ years of spacecraft flight software experience.
• Proficiency in C, Python, and version control essential; satellite bus architectures and SoC platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement flight software in C/C++ for critical spacecraft functions (radio, telemetry, fault protection).
• Support hardware bring-up and system integration; optimize for Low-SWaP embedded environments.
