Job summary

The University of Colorado Boulder’s Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) seeks a senior electrical hardware engineer to design, analyze, and bring up spaceflight electronics for scientific instruments and spacecraft.

You will own circuit-card assemblies, guide PCB layout, perform thermal-vacuum and EMI/EMC testing, and provide technical leadership within small teams while mentoring junior engineers. Onsite in Boulder with broad collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in high-reliability space hardware.
• Strong ownership of complex electronic assemblies from requirements to production.

Responsibilities

• Design in analog, mixed-signal, power, embedded, or high-speed digital domains for spaceflight instruments.
• Develop electrical requirements, interfaces, and verification plans.
• Capture schematics in Altium Designer and guide PCB layout and PCBA releases.
• Model circuit performance with LTspice/Ansys; perform derating and reliability analyses.
• Bring up hardware in lab, perform EMI/EMC, thermal-vacuum tests, and troubleshoot.
