Job summary

Firefly Aerospace seeks an Electrical Engineer - Spacecraft Avionics to design, develop, and test avionics for our spacecraft. You will drive requirements verifications, build and test the HIL system, and coordinate with software, mechanical, propulsion, fluids, and structures teams to ensure a fully integrated solution.

You will develop development schedules, system-level test plans, and support launch day operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 3+ years of aerospace component development, testing, integration, or operations.
• Analog and digital circuit design experience with test equipment.
• Prototyping circuits and testing experience.
• Requirement writing and verification.
• Technical writing and SOP documentation experience.
• Self-starting, proactive attitude.
• Experience with Python.

Responsibilities

• Design the electrical architecture of avionics and integrate components.
• Support AIT, launch integration, and on-orbit operations.
• Direct assembly and test operations based on design intent.
• Write and execute vehicle assembly procedures and validation tests.
• Lead design and development of avionics systems for current and future spacecraft.
• Develop verification and qualification test plans with cross-functional teams.
• Recommend reliability upgrades based on experience.
• Write requirements and verify spacecraft avionics.
