Job summary

The position emphasizes CAD modeling, GD&T, environment testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring industry compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar field.
• 5+ years of core mechanical engineering experience in aerospace or related fields.
• Experience leading the assembly and integration of space flight hardware.
• Experience delivering high-quality results in design, assembly, and testing of spacecraft structures.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as Solidworks and NX.
• Experience with fastener torque values and material finishes (e.g. anodizing).
• Experience with NASA GEVS standard and clean room protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead spacecraft mechanical assembly integration and testing, including MGSE and environmental test planning.
• Lead the design and development of primary and secondary spacecraft structures.
• Develop CAD models and engineering drawings with surface finish and GD&T specs.
• Create mechanical assembly procedures and document results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate structural subsystems.
