Job summary

Aleron is seeking a Space Lead AI&T Engineer in Los Angeles for a hands-on, in-office leadership role in spacecraft mechanical engineering. You will direct design, assembly, and testing of structural assemblies and systems for spacecrafts, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring regulatory and standards compliance.

Qualifications

• BSME or Aerospace Engineering degree or equivalent.
• 5+ years of aerospace mechanical engineering experience; leadership in assembly/integration of space flight hardware.
• 3+ years of experience with 3D CAD software (Solidworks, NX, Catia, Creo).
• Experience with fastener torque values, material finishes, NASA GEVS, clean room and ESD protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead spacecraft mechanical assembly integration and testing, including MGSE/EGSE coordination and environmental testing.
• Lead design and development of primary/secondary spacecraft structures and CAD models.
• Develop mechanical assembly procedures and GD&T specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate structural subsystems with spacecraft systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure compliant design processes.
