Job summary

Apex - Satellite Platforms in Playa Vista, CA, seeks a Space Vehicle Systems Engineer to lead system-level design, integration, and verification for a classified satellite program. You will define architecture, allocate requirements, manage interfaces, and coordinate across disciplines while engaging government customers.

Role requires TS/SCI clearance, 5+ years in systems engineering for spacecraft/defense hardware, and strong modeling/tools skills (Python, MATLAB, STK).

Qualifications

• Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor's in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of systems engineering experience, preferably in spacecraft/defense hardware.
• Strong requirements management and verification/validation knowledge.
• Experience with mission analysis or modeling tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define spacecraft-level architecture and derive requirements with traceability.
• Lead system trade studies, risk analyses, and simulations across constraints.
• Develop and maintain system documentation and ICDs.
• Coordinate subsystem integration across electrical, mechanical, thermal, and software domains.
• Analyze test data, isolate issues, and drive resolution with teams.
• Support and present at major program reviews and ensure readiness.
