Job summary

Lunar Outpost is seeking a Senior Test Systems Engineer to shape space robotics testing for a high‑growth startup. You will architect test requirements, lead campaigns, and develop test platforms and prototypes to advance the Pegasus LTV program for NASA missions.

Ideal candidates will have a 4–8 year background in NASA‑class tests, strong documentation skills, and deep systems engineering knowledge. This role is on‑site in Colorado and requires U.S. person status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical engineering or related field.
• 4–8 years of experience developing and executing NASA Class A/human-rated test campaigns.
• Proven ability to lead engineering test efforts for verification and validation.
• Familiarity with NASA AI&T standards (SMC-S-016, NASA-STD-8739).
• Understanding of NASA verification and validation processes.
• Strong test documentation skills (plans, procedures, reports).
• Knowledge of systems engineering processes and best practices.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and Project.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication; U.S. Person.

Responsibilities

• Develop test requirements and plans in coordination with IPTs.
• Support IPT generation of test reports.
• Plan and execute component, subassembly, and subsystem qualification campaigns.
• Lead design, build, and test of vehicle test platforms and prototypes.
• Develop qualification/test schedules and execute campaigns on schedule.
• Write test procedures to support qualification at multiple levels.
• Provide inputs to program schedules and budgets; report campaign status.
