Job summary

Redwire Space is seeking two Staff Project Engineers in Goleta, CA to lead technical execution from concept to delivery. You will drive system-level design, verification, and documentation while guiding teams across the product lifecycle.

You will partner with program management and customers, ensuring technical integrity, cost control, and schedule alignment, with travel 10–15% as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in aerospace/Mechanical Eng required; MS preferred.
• 8+ years in design, development, manufacturing and testing of production hardware.
• Experience leading technical teams and systems-level engineering.
• Experience with space mechanism design and aerospace guidelines.
• Proficient with CAD and PDM systems.
• Strong drafting and GD&T knowledge (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience presenting updates to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for programs, managing scope, schedule, resources, and budget.
• Maintain technical integrity across all project phases and escalate where needed.
• Translate strategies into system-level requirements with cross‑discipline coordination.
• Lead design reviews and develop verification and test procedures.
• Generate and review project documentation and system requirements.
• Ensure traceability and verification through testing.
• Assess system performance using analyses and KPIs.
• Support non-conformance investigations and dispositions.
• Act as technical liaison with customers and assist business development.
• Provide guidance to internal teams and establish engineering standards.
