Job summary

Viasat, a US-based company, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our space infrastructure team. You will contribute to the design, development, qualification, and production transition of mechanical systems and hardware for next-generation satellite platforms, serving as a key technical contributor across the full product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience in spaceflight hardware.
• Hands-on experience developing spacecraft mechanical subsystems.
• Proficient with CAD/CAE tools and aerospace standards.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable, manufacturable spacecraft hardware and systems.
• Support mechanical design for satellite structures, mechanisms, and packaging.
• Perform structural, thermal, vibration, shock, and environmental analyses.
• Contribute to design reviews and present data to leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, QA, and supply chain.
• Evaluate new technologies and manufacturing processes to improve capability.
