Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Principal Engineer for System-Level Integration & Test to design and drive the system-level test program for the Terawave platform. You will build test facilities, design end-to-end tests, and work hands-on across hardware and software with vehicle, payload, ground, and network teams.

The role requires 8+ years in system integration and test for spacecraft or complex communications, with experience across RF/optical links and HWIL environments, plus CI/CD familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical field; master's degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in system integration and test for spacecraft, satellite, or complex communications systems, with hardware and software experience.
• Experience with satellite systems, test venues and infrastructure for RF/optical links, including link budget validation and HIL environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD principles and integrating validation into automated pipelines.
• Strong ability to work across organizational boundaries and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the system-level integration and test architecture across the full program lifecycle.
• Create progressive test environments from link-level to fully integrated configurations with satellites and emulations.
• Ensure complete system-level test coverage across hardware-software interfaces and teams.
• Define and execute end-to-end test scenarios across RF and optical links.
• Drive test infrastructure requirements including anechoic chambers, thermal systems, RF simulators, and hardware-in-the-loop rigs.
• Collaborate with the TeraWave team to integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines for automated validation.
• Define acceptance tests and support FCC radiating tests with responsible teams.
