Job summary

SAIC is seeking an experienced senior systems engineer to deliver ground system integration support for the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center. You will oversee lifecycle activities from concept to operations and interface with contractors to integrate Next Generation OPIR satellites into the ground system.

The role requires Top Secret/SCI clearance, strong systems engineering and leadership skills, and a track record in DoD space programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor (STEM) plus 5+ years related experience or Master’s with 12+ years or PhD/JD with 9+ years.
Experience in requirements definition and analysis, fielding and integration of ground system hardware, and space-to-ground system test.
Advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts; contributed to development of new principles and concepts.
Participation with senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.
Ability to recommend/make decisions on project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives.
Exercised independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team-building and problem-solving skills in government/contractor environments.

Responsibilities

Support lifecycle development of ground/space systems, from concepts to operations.
Interface with development contractors and provide government recommendations for program activities.
Collaborate withRS/SMC leaders to ensure successful system integration and transition to operations.
