Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems seeks a Space System Engineering Manager in Englewood, CO to lead the planning, technical performance, and execution of space systems projects. You will direct multiple engineering phases, oversee system design of satellites, and collaborate across disciplines to meet technical and business objectives.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in engineering or a related technical field as well as thirteen or more years of progressively complex engineering experience.
• Demonstrates extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice as well as comprehensive project management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
• Must possess the ability to resolve complex management and technical problems.
• Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
• An active DoD security clearance is required; a TS/SCI clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and technically perform on engineering unit(s), ensuring quality, schedule, and financial objectives are met.
• Direct all phases of engineering projects from inception through completion.
• Collaborate with staff, program managers, and senior management to set current and long-term technical and business objectives.
• Lead system engineering for satellite missions and space systems, including design trade-offs and subsystem selection.
