Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) in Englewood, CO is seeking a Project Engineer for satellite systems to lead the Integrated Master Plan, risk management, and program resource planning. You will coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure cost, schedule and technical execution, presenting at milestone reviews and supporting proposals.

Ideal candidates have extensive engineering leadership experience on space-related programs, DoD customers, and a proven track record of delivering

Qualifications

Twelve or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, ten or more with a masters, or seven or more with a PhD.
Working knowledge of space systems, DoD programs (highly desired).
Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; able to mentor others.
Extensive engineering expertise with experience leading project work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute engineering development efforts to meet cost, schedule, and performance commitments.
Lead cross-functional engineering teams and coordinate day-to-day task prioritization.
Manage engineering resources by defining needs and staffing.
Support technical leadership on product design, development, and improvement with Program Management.
Identify, assess, and manage program risks and opportunities, including cost and schedule impacts.
Monitor and manage cost, schedule, and technical scope changes, including change management processes.
Develop, maintain, and support execution of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and related forecasts and metrics.
Drive engineering tasks and action items to closure and report status to Program Management and senior leadership.
Prepare and lead major program milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, ORR).
Communicate effectively with engineering, stakeholders, and management; serve as a key technical contact.
Present engineering work products at periodic and milestone reviews to senior staff and customers.
Support proposals and white papers, including development of engineering Basis of Estimates and customer interfaces.
Travel expected less than 10%.
