Job summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join the Space Suit Division in a hands-on role. You will design, build and maintain space suit systems and supporting equipment for low Earth orbit and beyond, collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and a minimum of 15 years of related experience, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires U.S. Citizenship due to sensitive information.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• At least 15 years of related experience.
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, leadership and teamwork skills.
• Proven ability to use CAD/drafting software in design work.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement and analyze technical products and systems using solid/fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
• Perform engineering design evaluations.
• Conduct dimensional tolerance and functional analyses.
• Procure, assemble and test advanced prototypes to inform design decisions.
• Prepare and present designs at design reviews using MS Word and PowerPoint.
