Job summary

KBR is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the hardware development of ground and flight systems supporting NASA missions.

You will apply advanced mechanical engineering principles to create high-quality hardware and interface with multidisciplinary teams. The role requires mentoring junior engineers, independent decision-making on space-related problems, and strong communication with customers and contract teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years related experience, with average experience of 15+ years and at least 12 years in flight hardware development.
• Experience with NASA, NASA contractor or DOD.
• Demonstrated success in working within complex projects in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Generate and define requirements for hardware and conduct design and tests.
• Lead hardware conceptual and detailed design, testing, and qualification activities.
• Provide design review oversight and mentoring to engineers on assigned projects.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, peers, customers, and contract colleagues.
