Job summary

Vast in Long Beach is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of structures for advanced space stations. This role includes developing understanding of environmental loads, performing mechanical design, and collaborating with fabricators. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or math and over 4 years of related experience. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, civil engineering, physics, or math.
• 4+ years of experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
• 4+ years of experience designing and developing mechanical components or systems.

Responsibilities

• Own design of primary and secondary structures on a large scale space station.
• Develop understanding of static and dynamic loads, vibrations, thermal and other environmental considerations.
• Perform mechanical design and analysis, develop manufacturing drawings, and test plans.
• Lead trades and own interfaces with subsystems.
• Work with fabricators and technicians to improve designs and resolve issues.
