Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks a Software & Ground Systems Engineer to support next‑generation space systems. You will oversee software and ground software activities, including audits, integration, and verification across spacecraft and ground segments.

The role requires a STEM bachelor’s, active TS clearance, and 7+ years in ground/space software with C++/Python; master’s is preferred. Duties include governance, system testing, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience architecting, implementing, or integrating ground system components.
• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering/development using C++, Python.
• 2+ years of leadership presenting or evaluating program lifecycle reviews.
• 2+ years of experience developing or evaluating ICDs and integration procedures.

Responsibilities

• Software Acquisition & Governance oversight: monitor, document, and report discrepancies per AFI 99-103, AFSPCI 99-103, SSC-S-001.
• Technical Audits & Reviews: conduct evaluations during FCA/PCA, CRWGs, reviews.
• Software Assurance & Margin Analysis: perform code/design/data flow reviews and margin analyses.
• Ground Segment Integration: evaluate TT&C, Ground Control, Mission Management and crypto interfaces.
• Integration & Test (I&T) Verification: review test plans and simulations for readiness.
