Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and sustainment of non-embedded software supporting space systems, ground segments, command & control, mission planning, and real-time data processing environments.

You will architect high-performance APIs, develop intuitive user interfaces, optimize backend services, and guide teams through modern DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• 5+ years of software development for space systems and ground segments (C2, mission planning, data processing).
• 5+ years of development experience using Python.
• 3+ years of experience with JavaScript (Angular, JQuery).
• 3+ years of experience with TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• API architecture leadership — Lead requirements, architecture, interfaces and designs for high-performance APIs.
• Agile DevSecOps execution — Guide development activities in Agile environments and integrate components into systems.
• Full lifecycle ownership — Lead feature development from design through deployment.
• Backend ecosystem development — Build and consume APIs and backend services with emphasis on automation, testing, and security.
• Code quality leadership — Conduct and lead code reviews to enforce standards and maintain quality.
• Front-end development — Translate design mockups into functional UI using modern frameworks.
