Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies seeks a Senior Radiation Effects Engineer to define environmental requirements and lead circuit‑level mitigation designs for high‑reliability space systems.

You will drive radiation testing campaigns, validate components for harsh space environments, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross‑functional teams across electrical and mechanical disciplines.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with electronics focus
• Hands-on electrical hardware design and troubleshooting in space/high-reliability environments
• Experience with radiation environments (TID, SEE, DDD) and testing
• Proven track record leading technical projects and risk management
• US citizenship or Green Card required for export controls

Responsibilities

• Architect and design fault-tolerant, radiation-hardened electrical systems and avionics architectures
• Lead simulation and modeling to evaluate GEO/GTO radiation effects
• Drive radiation testing campaigns to up-screen COTS and automotive-grade components
• Collaborate with mechanical/structural teams for ray-tracing and shielding optimization
• Mentor junior engineers and support schematic capture, PCB layout, and hardware bring-up
• Support recruiting and technical interviews within the engineering team
