Job summary

Blue Canyon Technologies, RTX's small satellite manufacturer, seeks a Program Manager II to lead space hardware programs from conception through on-orbit operations. You will engage customers, develop concepts, formulate missions, and balance cost, schedule, and performance with senior teammates.

The role is an on-site, full-time position in Lafayette, CO offering competitive pay and benefits. You will mentor teams and coordinate with partners to deliver high-impact space missions.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management with an engineering background.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Solid systems engineering and technical management skills with ability to grow new business and run demanding flight programs.
  • Ability to work rapidly with minimal supervision on projects with both small and large teams.
  • Previous experience in project definition, simulation, implementation, lab integration and test.

Responsibilities

  • Program management responsibility for space hardware missions across commercial, defense, restricted, or NASA satellites.
  • Execute programs through all lifecycle phases including business development, mission formulation, requirements flow-down, manufacturing, integration and test, and on-orbit operations.
  • Balance performance, emerging technologies, schedule, risk and cost in system design.
  • Lead and mentor program teams through milestones, challenges and successes.
  • Prepare and present for major program milestone reviews.
  • Develop procurement documents and manage subcontracts; review and negotiate SOWs.
  • Collaborate with customers to refine needs and provide innovative and competitive solutions.
  • Support and evolve spacecraft and component product line offerings.
  • Generate and maintain IMS and program budgets/forecasts; assess risk and opportunities.
  • Execute flight programs meeting technical and cost obligations; coordinate with contractors and partners.
