Job summary

The Buyer III at Sierra Space uses advanced procurement, supply chain, and strategic sourcing to lead high-value purchasing activities. You will coordinate with leadership, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, timely, and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.

You will negotiate contracts, manage risks, and support strategic sourcing initiatives while mentoring junior buyers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Typically 5+ years of related experience.
• Advanced understanding of procurement, supply chain management, and strategic sourcing.
• Expertise in contract negotiation, risk management, and supplier relationship management.
• Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze market dynamics and forecast procurement needs.
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities for high-value purchases with timely, cost-effective acquisition.
• Negotiate contracts and manage risks while maintaining supplier relationships.
• Analyze market dynamics and forecast procurement needs to support strategic sourcing.
• Handle procurement documentation and ensure policy compliance.
• Mentor and train junior buyers to enhance skills and performance.
• Collaborate with leadership, suppliers and external personnel across functions.
• Manage procurement software, including SAP, to optimize processes.
