Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking a regular full-time Space Planning Analyst to manage the Medical Center's on-campus space resources, analyze utilization, and project future needs.

You will collaborate with Department Administrators and Health Sciences leadership to define scope, develop master plans, space standards, and scenario planning, and report to senior management. Strong Excel and AutoCAD skills are preferred; bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with major coursework in Architecture, Facilities Planning, Interior Design, Finance, or Strategic Planning preferred and 4 years of relevant healthcare or research lab planning experience required Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Manages the use of the Medical Center’s on-campus research and medical education space resources.
• Analyzes the effective utilization of space and the projection of future needs.
• Collaborates with Department Administrators and Health Sciences leadership to define scope and program descriptions based on research procedures, medical education models, and work processes.
• Serves as a subject matter expert to the Director regarding policy issues on the administration of space planning at the Health Sciences Campus with a focus on master planning, space standards, and scenario development.
• Evaluates requests from the Senior Vice President of Health Sciences, Dean, or Departments for renovation, relocation, expansion or improved use of existing space.
• Prepares reports, recommendations, planning programs or conceptual plans for approval by client/user requesting service and the Assistant Director/Director.
• Provides support to MC Space Committee. Evaluates requests, tracks status and deadlines.
• Manages and coordinates the day-to-day updates for the University-wide space information system for the Medical Center.
