Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an eCad Electrical Engineer – Level 4 in Dulles, VA, specializing in PCB layout for spaceflight hardware. The role focuses on board-level layout, not schematic design, and requires end-to-end layout using Cadence Allegro.

You will create high-density, multilayer boards, ensure SI/PI, meet NASA-STD-8739 and IPC standards, and collaborate across engineering disciplines. You will work 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, 100% onsite, and join a team delivering

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of professional PCB layout experience, or advanced degree with 8–10 years.
U.S. Citizenship required to support government/military programs.
Proven experience with Cadence Allegro PCB Designer in high-reliability environments.
Experience creating/managing ECAD libraries (symbols/footprints).
Demonstrated leadership in layout design for mission-critical flight boards.

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end PCB layout process using Cadence Allegro PCB Designer.
Develop multilayer, high-density interconnect (HDI) layouts for space environments.
Create and maintain PCB symbols, footprints, and padstacks to internal standards.
Ensure layout meets electrical, mechanical, and thermal constraints.
Apply NASA-STD-8739 and IPC-2221/2222 layout standards for space hardware.
