Job summary

Ephemeris Net is seeking an Optical Engineer to own the design, build, test, and flight of optical systems for the Ephemeris Net network. You will manage the end-to-end optical hardware, from transceivers to free-space links, including ray tracing, tolerance analysis, and stray light rejection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in optical engineering or related field.
• 4+ years hands-on experience designing precision electro-optical instruments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own optical hardware end to end for transceiver and free-space link.
• Design and assemble coherent transceiver optics and free-space assembly.
• Ray tracing, tolerancing, ghost analysis, stray light analysis to close link budgets.
• Characterize performance: modulation quality, wavefront, noise figure, bandwidth, power budgets.
