Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is hiring for a Senior Member of the Technical Staff to lead architecture studies of human spaceflight system concepts, coordinating across engineering disciplines and with NASA and other customers. The role requires deep systems engineering expertise, strong communication, and the ability to mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in engineering, science, or related technical field with 3–5 years of industry experience.
  • M.S. in engineering, science, or related technical field with 2+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience in system or enterprise architecting, systems engineering, concept design, and/or model-based systems engineering.
  • Demonstrated interest in human spaceflight systems, missions, and architectures through coursework, projects, research, or self-study.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with diverse collaborators.
  • Strong oral and written communication for briefings, reports, and informal communications.
  • Ability to learn new skills and acquire knowledge via self-study and mentorship.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally ~5–10%.
  • Eligibility to obtain TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in architecture studies of human spaceflight system concepts with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Engage with NASA, Aerospace customers, and contractors to elicit needs, requirements, and constraints; mentor staff and communicate status and results.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to enable concurrent engineering addressing complex problems.
