Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Senior Member of the Technical Staff in Houston to lead architecture studies for human spaceflight system concepts. You will drive cross-disciplinary analyses, coordinate with program offices, NASA partners, and contractor personnel, and mentor junior staff while delivering clear briefs and technical reports.

Minimum qualifications include a PhD in a relevant field, up to one year of industry experience, and a strong background in model-based systems

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Aerospace, Mechanical or Systems Engineering (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months)
  • 0–1 year of industry experience
  • Experience in system/enterprise architecting, systems engineering, concept design, or model-based systems engineering
  • Demonstrated interest in human spaceflight systems, missions, and architectures
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally approx. 5–10%
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship required
  • Transcripts required for this position

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in architecture studies of human spaceflight system concepts with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Engage with Aerospace program office, NASA, and contractor staff as a technical focal point to elicit needs and constraints
  • Mentor junior staff and communicate status, methods, results, and recommendations in briefs and reports
