Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to drive multi-year launch site planning, align infrastructure with vehicle roadmaps, and own delivery from concept to construction. You will balance strategic foresight with hands-on execution, coordinating with Space Force, FAA, NASA, and internal teams.

The role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and cycle-time reduction, requiring 8+ years in engineering or PM, strong regulatory and budgeting skills, and US citizenship/permanent residency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline is required.
• 8+ years of relevant engineering or project management experience.
• 3+ years of launch infrastructure, test facility, or land development experience.
• Experience with state or federal agencies on permitting, land use, and development.
• Ability to read and work from technical plans, drawings, and specs.
• Strong budgeting, scoping, and scheduling skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate future launch and test site locations considering growth and needs.
• Develop site layouts, master plans, and ROM cost estimates with utilities and constraints.
• Translate requirements into planning documents with engineers and internal units.
• Own the full lifecycle of design and construction projects as the owner.
• Write SOWs, manage external contractors to schedule and budget.
• Review design deliverables, RFIs, and submittals for compliance.
• Coordinate NEPA and environmental planning with agencies.
