Job summary

Space Systems Integration (SSI) seeks an ISR Principal Modeling/Simulation Engineer in Chantilly, VA to provide local support to SWAC/MDSP/ISRT. You will develop space-based ISR models and run simulations using AF SIM, STK, SOAP, and NGTS, while coordinating with internal and external partners and contributing to force design analyses.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance, strong analytical skills, and experience preparing decision-quality briefings for leadership. Travel ~10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 9+ years experience; Master's with 7+ years; PhD/JD with 4+ years.
• Experience developing complex space system models and simulations using STK, SOAP, AFSIM, NGTS.
• Experience scripting with VB, Python, and MATLAB.
• Strong technical understanding of space-based ISR systems across DoD and IC.
• 5+ years space system modeling and simulation experience.
• Ability to work in classified environments and hold TS/SCI clearance.
• Willingness to travel ~10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop space-based ISR target simulations and behavior files using M&S tools (AFSIM).
• Create modeling/analysis scripts using VB, Python, and MATLAB.
• Build space-based missile warning access and performance models with STK or SOAP.
• Assist in force design analysis planning and results evaluation.
• Document dependencies and opportunities across joint IC and government orgs.
• Coordinate M&S inputs for external efforts and cross-functional planning.
• Collaborate across agencies and with multiple organizations on design efforts.
