Job summary

K2 Space Corporation is building the largest and highest-power satellites for missions from LEO to deep space. We are hiring a Senior Navigation & Guidance engineer to drive GNC architecture, perform trade studies, and own the verification and validation plan for flight readiness.

You will contribute to autonomous orbit raise, 6-DOF simulation upgrades, and the block 2 GNC stack enhancement while mentoring other engineers.

Qualifications

• GNC actuator or sensor sizing, selection, and system design experience.
• Experience implementing attitude control and/or estimation on spacecraft.
• Experience with verification and validation of GNC flight software using 6-DOF sim and HITL.
• Proficiency in Python, Julia, C/C++, or Matlab for algorithms and simulation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate a novel high level vehicle architecture with engineering leads.
• Create algorithms for pointing large, flexible structures in earth orbit and beyond.
• Develop slewing algorithms for large structures in orbit.
• Build simulation and modeling tools for mission design, controls, and 6-DOF sim.
• Contribute to growing the GNC organization through mentoring engineers.
