Job summary

E-Space in Saratoga, CA is seeking a Senior GNC Engineer to design, simulate, and test attitude estimation and control systems for a space-based IoT network. The role focuses on developing, tuning, and validating estimation and control algorithms and building high-fidelity GNC models.

You will run Monte Carlo campaigns, integrate software into the real-time flight stack, and collaborate across teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities for a cutting-edge space program.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering with GNC experience.
• Experience owning the design and deployment of advanced control algorithms in safety-critical aerospace applications.
• Experience tuning Kalman filters and sensor fusion for attitude determination.
• Model-based validation from simulations to hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Hands-on with C/C++, Python, Git, Linux, MATLAB/Simulink.
• Strong teamwork and documentation in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, tune, and test satellite attitude estimation and control algorithms.
• Develop, maintain, and expand high-fidelity 6-DOF GNC simulation tools, including dynamics, environment, sensor, and actuator models.
• Define and run model/software-in-the-loop and Monte Carlo simulation campaigns and build data processing tools to assess GNC performance.
• Participate in GNC software integration into the real-time flight software stack, and support hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Apply rigorous software development and configuration management practices, leveraging AI-assisted development workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide GNC domain expertise and support operations.
• Produce clear, detailed technical documentation and test reports.
