Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to join the Flight Software team. You will determine how our spacecraft behaves in orbit and build reliable software from requirements through testing and flight operations.

You will own all aspects of software development for embedded processors in C++, including bare metal, RTOS, or Linux environments, and apply V&V techniques to ensure mission success. On-site role with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field required.
• 5+ years in development of spacecraft or safety-critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems and C++.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft hardware across mission phases.
• Own all aspects of software development from design to integration and testing.
• Scope projects with requirements capture and early design trades for open-ended problems.
• Write quality structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build reliable software systems with strong verification and validation.
• Ensure system quality and performance through V&V techniques.
