Varda Space Industries, Inc. seeks a Senior Space Embedded Software Engineer in El Segundo, CA to determine spacecraft behavior and build reliable software for in-orbit operation, from requirements through testing and flight support.

You will own all aspects of software development for embedded processors in C++, including bare metal, RTOS, or Linux, and ensure system quality via V&V techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in spacecraft or safety-critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Proficient in C++ and modern language concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.
• Own all aspects of software development from design to integration.
• Scope projects with requirements capture and design trades.
• Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build reliable and available software systems.
• Ensure quality and performance via verification and validation techniques.
