Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA seeks a Senior Spacecraft Embedded Software Engineer on the Flight Software team to determine spacecraft behavior in orbit and build reliable software from requirements to flight operations.

You will write C++ for bare metal, RTOS, or Linux, own design, testing, and integration, and work on high-reliability systems critical for space missions. This is an on-site role with stock options and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, math, physics, engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in spacecraft or safety-critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Experience with C++, including language concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control the spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule through the mission.
• Own all aspects of software development, from design, testing, and integration.
• Scope projects including requirements capture and initial design trades for open-ended problems.
• Write quality structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build highly reliable and available software systems.
• Ensure system quality and performance through software test, verification, and validation (V&V) techniques.
