Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Staff Component Engineer to lead parts selection, qualification, and supplier evaluations for aerospace applications. The role emphasizes high-reliability EEE parts, standardization, and collaboration with the design team to drive product upgrades.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in component engineering for space hardware, strong communication skills, and a drive to innovate within a startup-like environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 12 years in component engineering.
• Experience with aerospace/military parts qualification.
• Familiar with part lifecycle management and PLM.
• Ability to lead and mentor in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Define testing and qualification requirements for EEE parts with customers.
• Lead high-reliability EEE parts selection and verification.
• Develop component roadmap with design teams balancing cost and schedule.
• Review customer docs and align needs with product lines.
• Prepare NSPARs and Source Control Drawings for internal/external use.
• Perform BOM cost analyses and supplier audits.
