Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Lead Communications Systems Engineer (Senior Project Leader - RF) to guide communications architecture for national space programs. You will lead a high-performing team, ensuring technical excellence and mission-success across complex government initiatives.

The role requires 12+ years in engineering, a relevant engineering or science degree, and active Top Secret/SCI with a polygraph. On-site in Chantilly, VA with strong leadership and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering or STEM.
• 12+ years of escalating responsibilities in professional engineering/scientific experience across government programs.
• Space systems engineering skills including explaining and presenting to the customer how issues relate to the broader program.
• Experience with satellite communication hardware and/or digital/analog waveform processing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical representative to the customer, leading architecture concepts with subject matter experts.
• Lead teams evaluating system requirements, technical specifications, and associated risk.
• Facilitate technical and programmatic discussions across the SSG organization.
• Be a technical contributor to on orbit vehicle studies and enterprise impacts.
• Assess risk, schedule, and cost necessitating timely delivery of space capabilities.
• Assist in the execution of program office systems engineering and acquisition processes.
