Carpenter Hotel, part of Bunkhouse, in Austin, TX, seeks a Sous Chef to lead menu planning, direct cooking operations, manage supplies, and maintain records for efficient kitchen service across multiple outlets.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; Culinary Institute certification preferred.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
• Experience with inventory controls and scheduling a staff of 15+.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise food preparation and cooking activities across multiple kitchens.
• Collaborate to plan and develop recipes and menus considering seasonal ingredients and customer volume.
• Inspect supplies and equipment and arrange purchases/repairs as needed.
• Ensure sanitation and quality standards are met.
• Record production data and monitor inventory levels.
• Hire, supervise, and coordinate cooks and kitchen staff.
