Job summary

Caesars Entertainment is seeking a Sous Chef for Chop Block & Brew at Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino. You will lead the kitchen team, drive menu development, and ensure consistent quality across all items under Executive Chef guidance.

You will interview, train, and develop staff, manage daily operations, and uphold sanitation and safety standards while meeting budget and service goals. This role spends substantial time on the floor with 80/20 floor/administrative duties and requires strong leadership.

Qualifications

• A culinary degree/certification or equivalent apprenticeship required.
• Experience in high-volume, multi-line operations (room service, continental, steakhouse, Italian).
• Knowledge of multiple cuisines: Asian, Mexican, Southern, Italian, Cajun, seafood and East Coast.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Word/Excel; AS/400 Stratton/WarrenSystem preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct kitchen staff; interview and select department personnel.
• Ensure menu development timelines and high food quality standards.
• Manage budgetary, food cost and customer service expectations.
• Provide coaching, performance reviews and training for team members.
• Maintain safety, sanitation and health inspections; oversee scheduling and staffing.
