Job summary

The Benjamin Royal Sonesta New York is seeking a Senior Sous Chef to lead and influence culinary teams across restaurants, banquets, catering, and events at a premier New York hotel.

You will partner with the Executive Chef to ensure exceptional guest dining experiences, maintain quality and cost controls, and drive innovation while upholding safety standards in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or formal culinary training preferred.
• 3+ years of culinary leadership experience in hotels, restaurants, resorts, banquets, or high-volume hospitality environments.
• Experience supervising kitchen teams, coaching, scheduling, and hands-on leadership.

Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Chef in leading day-to-day culinary and kitchen operations across restaurants, banquets, catering, room service, and events.
• Supervise kitchen team members with coaching, training, scheduling, and hands-on leadership to ensure excellence.
• Ensure food quality, presentation, and service standards across outlets; assist with menu development and seasonal offerings.
