Job summary

Elior North America is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join the team in the Pittsburgh, PA area. You will supervise and participate in the preparation of salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foods, while mentoring staff and maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of culinary management experience.
• Demonstrated institutional, hotel, or restaurant culinary skills for large quantity production.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proven track record of cost control and managing budgets.

Responsibilities

• Develop menus aligned with consumer tastes, nutrition, and budget.
• Maintain production, safety and sanitation standards.
• Direct daily preparation of standard and gourmet items.
• Evaluate raw and finished food quality.
• Inspect units for quality, cleanliness, and sanitation of production and service areas.
• Lead culinary production for events, monotony breakers, and catered functions.
• Supervise preparation and display for special functions.
• Maintain inventory controls for food, supplies, and equipment; interview, train and evaluate supervisory staff.
• Control revenue and expenses to meet financial goals.
• Ensure the highest level of customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
