Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Sourcing Specialist, OPEX (Starlink) in Bastrop, TX. You will lead procurement activities, forecast demand, and develop sourcing strategies for mechanical and COTS hardware.

Collaboration with engineering and manufacturing is essential to drive production goals and supplier performance. The role requires 3+ years in sourcing/ procurement (or 5+ years without degree) and hands-on ERP/MRP experience, with strong data analysis skills and supplier negotiation capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience with MRP/ERP systems, BOMs, work orders and POs.
• Forecasting, demand planning and lead time analysis.
• Detail-oriented, fast-moving environment with ability to prioritize multiple projects.
• Strong data analysis skills using Excel, SQL and Power BI.
• APICS certification or Six Sigma, or similar certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices.
• Forecast demand, evaluate capacity, and manage supply signals.
• Track high-risk components and supplier delivery performance.
• Communicate with vendors and senior leadership to influence decisions.
• Interpret engineering drawings and BOMs to create sourcing strategies.
• Develop preferred supplier networks to minimize cost and lead time.
• Manage outsource fabrication projects and evaluate vendor performance.
• Author contracts and ensure supplier adherence to terms.
