We are supporting an Aerospace Manufacturing company in their search for a skilled and strategic sourcing professional to manage procurement efforts across multiple categories, including raw materials, resale goods, and specialized services. This role is responsible for developing supplier strategies, negotiating commercial agreements, and ensuring operational continuity through strong vendor performance. The ideal candidate will combine long-term planning with tactical execution to ensure consistent value delivery across the supply chain.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with company goals across assigned categories.
Establish multi-year agreements to secure pricing, supply continuity, and service levels for key goods and services.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand demand forecasts and align procurement efforts accordingly.
Mentor and support junior team members within the purchasing group.
Monitor industry trends and market dynamics to guide purchasing decisions and identify sourcing opportunities.
Identify and evaluate new suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and compliance criteria.
Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, delivery schedules, and performance clauses.
Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Oversee logistics partners and review shipping contracts to optimize freight cost and delivery reliability.
Perform on-site supplier audits and inspections to ensure ongoing qualification and compliance.
Create and manage purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery of materials and services.
Resolve issues related to delayed shipments, non-conformances, and pricing discrepancies.
Coordinate with production, engineering, and inventory control teams to meet operational requirements.
Support import/export activities and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Manage returns, non-conforming material processes, and supplier claims.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
Minimum 7 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain roles.
Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, with experience supporting both direct and indirect spend.
Experience working with ERP or MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Industry certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or CPIM are a strong plus.
Expertise in supplier negotiation, contract development, and sourcing strategy.
Ability to read technical drawings and collaborate with engineering on material specifications.
Strong analytical and organizational skills; capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Skilled at communicating with suppliers and internal teams at all organizational levels.
Demonstrated ability to lead sourcing projects from concept through execution.
Familiarity with international freight movement, vendor compliance, and KPI tracking.
