General Motors (GM) in Warren, MI is seeking a seasoned procurement professional to support logistics and returnable container contracts. You will negotiate, issue, and manage contracts while collaborating across supply chain functions to meet business objectives.

The role requires strong data analysis, negotiation, and relationship management, with travel up to 10% domestically and internationally. This is a hybrid position within GM's Logistics organization in Michigan.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree required in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or related field.
• 5+ years in purchasing, supply chain, logistics or product development.

Job DescriptionWhat You’ll Do:Responsible for executing deliverables in support of the logistics organization's business objectives. Negotiating and issuing contracts for GM returnable container requirements.Provides support of one of the key areas within Logistics and / or Containers organization to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas including customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product and financial initiatives.Communicates within the function as well as other functions, external affiliates, regulatory agencies.Responsible for supporting relationship management with suppliers and service providersInfluences others within the organization to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.Identify problems, update or modify work methods that may be complex in the work area without the benefit of defined procedures.Promote GM's values and makes customer-focused decisions.Removing Roadblocks & Resolving Issues/Complaints: Observes and steps up to remove roadblocks and resolve potential issues.Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)5+ years relevant work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)Data Judgement - Competency using automated tools, ability to objectively analyze data and draw meaningful conclusionsInformative Communication - Ability to communicate relevant information to the appropriate audience both effectively and timelyRelationship Management - Develops and maintains constructive, cooperative working relationshipsNegotiation - engage in collaborative discussions to reach meaningful agreementsAnalytical Thinking - Consider various factors in decision making to determine solutions and their impactsResults Focus - Take charge without prompting, seize opportunities and deliver on timeWorkload Management - Manage multiple tasks with quality; prioritize by critical needsSAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systemsAbility to travel 10% of the time domestically + InternationallyWhat Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)Bachelor's Degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, related fieldExperience with commoditiesCost analysis or manufacturing experienceAutomotive industry experienceKnowledge of Returnable ContainersKnowledge of Capacity and Materials ManagementCapable of drawing conclusions from complex data, market trends and the regulatory environmentAbility to understand basic engineering documents and technical drivers for the applicable commoditiesKnowledge of contract law as it applies to the purchasing processesGM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
