SB Energy, a SoftBank-backed infrastructure leader in Redwood City, seeks a strategic Sourcing Manager for Electrical Equipment to shape sourcing strategies for mission-critical infrastructure supporting AI factories and data centers.

The role partners with engineering, construction, and procurement to standardize equipment, ensure supply continuity, and manage risks. The position requires 7+ years in sourcing and strong negotiation skills, with domestic and international travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in sourcing, procurement, or category management within infrastructure or manufacturing environments.
• Experience in electrical equipment categories such as switchgear, UPS, switchboards, busway, or related equipment preferred.
• Strong commercial negotiation, supplier relationship management, and contract management skills.
• Working knowledge of supplier capacity planning, lead-time management, and risk mitigation in a supply chain context.
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to supplier facilities and project locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies across electrical equipment categories (e.g., medium- and low-voltage switchgear, transformers, UPS, PDU, busway, control systems).
• Lead supplier selection, negotiations, contract execution, and long-term category planning to improve cost and deployment scalability.
• Monitor market trends, capacity, and supply risks to inform strategic sourcing decisions.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with electrical equipment manufacturers to drive performance across quality, cost, delivery, and capacity.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning, and procurement teams to align sourcing with design standards and project requirements.
• Lead technical evaluations, supplier submittals, equipment validation, and standardization efforts across electrical equipment.
• Oversee manufacturing readiness, production scheduling, capacity planning, and logistics for project deployment.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and operational risks affecting equipment availability and schedules.
• Manage supplier performance metrics, commitments, and reporting related to delivery and capacity.
• Collaborate with finance and project controls to support forecasting and procurement documentation.
