Job summary

Biogen is seeking a resourceful procurement leader to drive strategic sourcing initiatives from their Cambridge, MA location. You will lead a team managing complex sourcing, negotiations, and supplier governance, aligning priorities across HR, Finance, Legal, and professional services.

You will build trusted senior relationships, influence business decisions, and deliver value through spend analytics, supplier performance, and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Life Sciences or related field required.
• 8–12 years of progressive procurement/strategic sourcing experience including HR and/or Professional Services.
• MBA or procurement certification preferred.
• Experience in biotechnology/pharma or regulated industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team through sourcing priorities while balancing senior stakeholder expectations across HR, Finance, Legal and services.
• Lead complex sourcing, negotiation, and contracting strategies including RFx development and supplier selection.
• Set category priorities, coach team, remove blockers, align with enterprise procurement goals.
• Facilitate stakeholder alignment, guide supplier selection, and coordinate negotiation decisions.
• Build senior stakeholder relationships and identify value creation using spend, supplier, and market insights.
• Establish strategic supplier relationships through reviews, scorecards, risk mitigation, and innovation roadmaps.
• Determine negotiation strategy and supplier segmentation for standard category initiatives.
• Approve cadence, reporting, and continuous improvement priorities within scope.
• Promote preferred suppliers, guided buying, catalogs, and contract compliance with procurement ops.
