Job summary

Biogen is seeking an Associate Director, Human Resources and Professional Services Category Leader, to lead an enterprise Procurement team responsible for category strategy, sourcing execution, supplier relationship management, and value delivery across HR and Professional Services spend.

You will coach three direct reports, align priorities with senior stakeholders, and deliver multi-year category plans using spend analytics and market intelligence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, HR, life sciences, or related field.
• MBA or procurement certification preferred.
• 8–12 years in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or supplier management.
• Experience with HR or professional services categories.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team through competing sourcing priorities across HR, Finance, Legal, and other professional services areas.
• Lead complex sourcing, negotiation, and contracting strategies, including RFx development and supplier selection.
• Set category priorities, coach team members, and align strategies with roadmaps and priorities.
• Facilitate stakeholder alignment and demand shaping; guide supplier selection and contract decisions.
• Build senior stakeholder relationships; use spend and market insights to identify value creation opportunities.
• Manage supplier governance, performance scorecards, and risk mitigation.
• Determine negotiation strategy and sourcing models for standard initiatives.
• Approve cadence, reporting, and continuous improvement priorities within scope.
