About the Role

Our client, a leading theatrical and event production company based in George , is seeking a highly skilled Senior Sound Designer & Engineer . This role is crucial for creating immersive audio experiences for live performances, concerts, and corporate events. You will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, implementation, and operation of all sound systems. We are looking for an innovative individual who can push creative boundaries while ensuring technical excellence and seamless execution for diverse clients across the Western Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Design innovative and compelling soundscapes for theatrical productions, concerts, and events.
• Select, set up, and operate all audio equipment, including microphones, mixing consoles, speakers, and digital audio workstations.
• Conduct sound checks and rehearsals, making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal audio quality.
• Collaborate closely with directors, musicians, and technical teams to achieve the desired artistic and technical outcomes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical audio issues that arise during setup or live performances.
• Manage the inventory and maintenance of all audio equipment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in sound design and live audio engineering.
• Proven expertise in digital audio workstations (DAWs) and audio mixing consoles.
• Strong understanding of acoustics, signal flow, and sound system integration.
• Experience with live sound reinforcement for various event types.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a live event setting.
• Degree in Audio Engineering, Music Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
