Job summary

Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine, seeks a full-time Ultrasonography Technologist for the Imaging Service. You will produce two-dimensional ultrasound images for diagnostic purposes across patient ages, under supervision, and mentor Level I/II students.

Required: accredited ultrasonography training and RDMS certification in multiple specialties; you will troubleshoot equipment and uphold QA standards while maintaining patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasonography.
• Current RDMS certification in two or more specialty areas.
• Ability to troubleshoot ultrasound equipment and QA processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images for all ages.
• Perform exams in accordance with QA standards and department protocols.
• Instruct and support Level I/II student technologists as needed.
• Coordinate equipment, personnel and resources to complete procedures.
• Document and charge appropriately for services rendered.
• Maintain patient safety and follow aseptic techniques.
• Explain procedures and gather relevant medical history from patients.
• Communicate effectively with manager, staff and patients.
• Assist with safety initiatives and quality improvement activities.
