Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking a Sonographer to perform ultrasonography across ages, administering high-frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques under supervision.

The role requires ARRT(S)/RDMS/CCI certification, BLS, and completion of a 6-month orientation; the incumbent will rotate from Short Pump to other ambulatory sites to cover open shifts, producing images for interpretation.

Qualifications

• ARRT or RDMS or CCI certification required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• Completion of 6-month orientation required.
• Individuals with at least 1 year of experience may be hired directly into this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasonography procedures and related techniques.
• Produce images for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.
• Complete post-processing, image display, preliminary reporting, and transfer for physician review in a timely manner.
• Routinely cover open shifts as needed based on competency.
